beach plastic earrings

Turn colourful beach treasures into your own unique pair of earrings!
In this fun, hands-on workshop, kids will use washed-up marine debris (including fishing beads, cotton bud stems, hard plastics and other fascinating beach finds) to create one-of-a-kind assemblage earrings.
Along the way, they'll learn about the journey of marine debris and discover how creativity can help give discarded plastic a new life. All materials and jewellery findings supplied.

Ages 8+

Serial BeachComber is the creative jewellery project of local marine debris advocate and artist Colleen Hughson, transforming plastic collected from Victoria's beaches into wearable art that tells stories of the sea.

This workshop is part of Stories from the Sea: Art, Place, Community, a community-led creative reuse and storytelling project addressing marine debris and volunteer fatigue along the Shipwreck Coast. Assisted by Regional Arts Australia.
